Owner, Head Skye Chaser
Kyle MacDonald
In 1987, she founded Phoenix Interactive Design, providing software solutions for banks and retailers. Starting with a staff of 2, she soon grew her business to an international scale, opening multiple offices in Canada, The United States, Scotland, and Australia. Her reputation as a visionary disrupter of the status quo helped her company secure software relationships with some of the largest banks and retailers around the world, including BMO Bank of Montreal, TD Canada Trust, Bank of America, and Publix Supermarkets.
In 2006, Kyle was awarded the prestigious RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her vision and direction, taking her company from a local to global software leader. She was awarded it again in 2014, for sustained exponential growth and momentum.
Continuing her entrepreneurial passion, Kyle sold Phoenix and founded Harbour Grace Group Inc. in 2015. Harbour Grace manages multiple international business ventures, including Eglin County’s oldest winery formerly known as Quai du Vin Estate Winery. She is in the process of transforming it into a state-of-the-art winery with a mission to make Southwestern Ontario one of Canada’s premium wine-making regions. The winery is now called Skye Chase, to remind us that chasing our dreams is like chasing the sky. You might never reach the ultimate dream, but the path you blaze toward it might be a victory in and of itself.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Kyle is passionate towards giving back to the community. She established scholarships at her former Toronto high school, the University of Western Ontario, and at Brescia College. Most recently Kyle provided the largest single private donation ever made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation to help support the Veterans residing at Parkwood Hospital and to help further research in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
