The Role:

We’re looking for a passionate individual to fulfil the role of Restaurant and Retail Sales Supervisor. This individual will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experience and overseeing day-to-day retail and food service operations.

As a key member of the SKYE CHASE Restaurant and Retail Sales team, this individual’s primary role is to take the lead in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, driving sales, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all dining and retail store visitors. The goal will be to provide an unforgettable experience for every guest, while also sharing knowledge and passion for wine.

What You’ll Do:

  • Foster a customer-centric culture that prioritizes exceptional service, leaving visitors with memorable experiences and encouraging repeat visits.
  • Address and resolve any team or customer issues with professionalism and positivity.
  • Serve as departmental role model by performing technical and functional job duties 
    including taking orders, serving and clearing tables and assisting with retail transactions.
  • Work with leadership to ensure that hourly associates clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Ensuring inventory levels are maintained at required levels.
  • Monitor and positively impact cost drivers associated with your team.
  • Participate in and encourage team member training, coaching and enforcement of service standards.
  • Lead by example in all aspects of team leadership including ongoing self-learning about wine varietals, vineyard operations, winemaking, food & wine pairings, all our products, and service developments.
  • Share wine knowledge with the Restaurant and Retail Sales team as well as guests in an engaging and educational manner.
  •  Focus on driving sales by assisting customers effectively and capitalizing on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Track and manage wine, merchandise and supply inventories.
  • Ensure seating volumes are effectively optimized.
  • Daily cash handling ensuring preparation and balancing of daily cash floats.
  • Maintaining drink and food menus ensuring they are current and in impeccable condition.
  • Participation in creating and implementing operating procedures.
  • Ensure all opening and closing duties are completed thoroughly.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety standards.

Other Duties as Assigned

  •  Take on additional appropriate tasks as required.

Requirements:

  •  Casual Fine Dining Restaurant Management Experience (minimum 3 years preferred). 
  • Retail experience at a supervisory level (minimum 3 years preferred). 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fine food, wine and service.
  • Knowledge of the wine industry is considered a definite asset.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in related field. 
  • Smart Serve Certified (will be required to start in the role).
  • Food Handlers Certified (will be required to start in the role). 
  • First Aid Certification (will be required once in the role). 
  • Previous cash handling and budget administration experience. 
  • Previous technology experience with Open Table, POS, Shopify, Microsoft Word, and Excel. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Schedule flexibility that includes possible evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to lift 12kg. 
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
